Question regarding Lawrence Tour

I was wondering if anyone went to a different beach with the Lawrence tour? We have now seen pictures of Long Bay and would really like to spend some time there.

Also, is anyone going to be there Nov. 30, 2004 that would like to share the day with my friend and I with Lawrence's Tour?

When we went with Lawrence in Feb, he took us to Long Bay Beach - so just let him know that that is your preference. He really is quite OK with customizing things to what you want. Long Bay Beach was quite nice.

Thanks for the replies it is great to know he will stop at Long Bay. How long did you stay there on his tour? Did he drop you off for a few hours then come back and get you?

Lawrence chooses long Bay not only because it is a nice beach, but also it is closer to his previous stop, Devil's bridge, about 15 minutes drive. As his sightseeing tour ended around noon to 1pm (if you start from 9am), you could have at lease 2 to 3 hours for beach time. But if your preference is different, just let me know. Once he drop you off to your choice of beach, let him know what time your group need to pick up, he will promptly come back to pick up your group.

The tour of the National Historic Park sites (Nelson's Dockyard etc) takes 2.5 to 3 hours (he never rushes you and goes at YOUR pace). Then we drove to the Natural Bridge (just stopped there for about 15 minutes for some pictures and a bit of history from Lawrence). Then he dropped us at Long Bay Beach (we chose to stay for 2 hours). He picked us up exactly at the agreed upon time and returned us to the ship. The whole tour (with driving and photo-op stops) took about 6 hours.

Just returned on June 6th from a glorious cruise on the Golden Princess. I would like to thank this board for the excellent recommendation of Lawrence of Antigua. He is an absolute pleasure and offers a wealth of
information maintaining great flexibility. It
had been 17 years since our last visit to
Antigua. Lawrence delivered 110% of what he had promised and was a hit with our 2 children ages 11 and 14. If you are looking for a nice
relaxed, no hassle and reasonable day with a few hours at the beach Lawrence is your man.

We are also on the 11/27 sailing of Serenade (saw you in the roll call) and had been considering Lawrence as he has glowing reviews on the previous cruise critics message board. The only hang up with trying to partner up with us is we will have our kids in tow (2 & 5). We are actually looking at doing the same thing in Barbados & St Lucia (and had tracked down the name of a driver in each island) as it seems like the best way to do what we want which is see the sights, eat a lunch somewhere very local/quaint & hit a beach for a few hours.

Thanks to everyone on this thread and the threads above. I contacted Lawrence of Antiqua by e-mail for our upcoming cruise (1-23-05). His response was quite 'speedy' and confirmed us for our day in Antiqua. I thought my letter of inquiry was way too early. I guess not, because he also stated he had quite a few days booked for Jan. already. He said he can accomodate 14 in his van - there are 6 of us. He also said he will contact us later in the year for arrival information.

If his tour is half as good as his response to my e-mail, we are in for a great tour!

To the rest of you - enjoy Antiqua!

markwojo, Who did you find in Barbados on Barbados for a tour?? I have been looking on the Barbados board but no one seemed to have any names. Mr. Barbados suggested a taxi but said it would run $22 per hour, a little to pricey for us.
