margeecruiser Posted January 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2013 Hi I have a new nail tech and she is wonderful. She uses only CND products, including their acetone. My nails look wonderful, and are not showing excessive dryness (white places) like when I remove my own Shellac using regular acetone. Does anyone know if this product is really the difference or if she is just really good. She also uses a drill to quickly score my nails (and I mean quickly, about one second on each nail) and then only leaves the acetone on for about 3 minutes and it works. What do you think of this process? Comments welcome. Margee
jlrn366419 Posted January 22, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2013 I do my own Gelish manicures. I've found the Gelish remover is not as harsh as pure acetone. I use a rough file on the gelish before I remove it. I think the directions recommend this removal technique.
CELTICGIRLCRUISER Posted January 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2013 "Scoring" the nail with a drill is definitely not part of the Shellac removal process. (Drilling or filing/buffing the nail surface is not part of a Shellac service before or after). The acetone used in salons/spas is enough to break the Shellac down normally within 5 minutes or so. The longer the Shellac has been on the harder it is to come off as such and the wraps may need a little longer and maybe some scraping off the Shellac residue with an orange wood stick only. One of the bonuses of Shellac against Gel polishes is the quickness of removal. As I have mentioned in all the Shellac threads in the past, Solar Oil (cuticle oil) also from CND is essential to keep the nails/Shellac in tip top condition. FunCruiser56 Posted February 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2013 When u use the solar oil do u use it on the underside of the nail or just over the polished side? Thanks. Bev Sent from my KFJWI using Tapatalk
CELTICGIRLCRUISER Posted February 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2013 As well as the cuticles I use it up the side of the nail and rub it into the whole nail too, I do this a couple of times a day when I remember:o
