Fruit in cabin

There was a small bowl of fresh fruit delivered to my cabin when I was on the Constellation two weeks ago. It was smaller than the gift bowls which can be ordered through Celebrity and there was no card. The room steward did not know who sent it and I never did find out. Does anyone know if perhaps this is a benefit of the Captains Club that I didn't know about?

I got a much neede dlaugh this morning from these great responses!

Yes, CC gets a fruit bowl everyday of the cruise. Go to www.celebrity.com & read up on CC class to see if you got everything advertised. Then let us know.

I haven't seen fruit bowls as a benefit of any Captain's Club level, at least not on the latest list in the newest edition of that nice glossy mag JW & co. sent a few weeks back.

I remember the fruit bowls from my childhood cruising days -- we didn't utilize them then and wouldn't now, with all that food available at all hours! Although last cruise I snagged a couple bananas from the breakfast buffet in case the kid was hit with a dire hunger attack in the cabin some morning ... never happened.

happy cruising to all, fruitful or fruitless,

Concierge class gets a bowl of fruit, bottle of champagne. Fruit is replaced every day and if you have a favorite, they'll bring whatever you like.

The original poster didn't state it was a Concierge Class room.

Nope, this wasn't a Concierge cabin; just a balcony cabin. I have never received fruit before and I have cruised before as a Captain's Club member. I couldn't find anything on the Captain's Club info that said I'd get a fruit bowl. Yes, we received everything else that it said we'd get. The fruit certainly wasn't necessary as there was always plenty of food. It was thoughtful though and we just wondered where it came from.

Maybe it was for the cabin next to you and they simply made a mistake! So now we need to look on the boards for someone complaining about not getting the fruit that they ordered!

We went on our first Celebrity cruise in March. It was on the Mercury and I have nothing but good to say about it.
We are experienced cruisers and enjoy fruit in our cabin. We were in an outside cabin not Concierge Class and at the time not Captains Club. I simply asked our cabin attendant,Maria, to please supply us with a bananna or two and an apple every day. We had a full bowl of fruit for the entire cruise including large bunches of wonderful grapes and kiwi's. She satisfied our California snacking habits and we loved her for it. Great service on the Mercury!!!

Is anyone else getting confused when someone uses CC as an abbreviation?
Do they mean Cruise Critic, Captain's Club, Concierge Class, Celebrity Cruises?

We were in a sky suite on the 5/1 Century sailing and had a bowl of fruit when we arrived (along with a bottle of champagne). With all the great food, we never got to eat the fruit and it was removed several times and brought back - we knew it was the same bowl of fruit because the bananas kept getting browner and browner!!

Carol,
I know what you mean, when we sailed to Hawaii after the 4th-5th day at sea the bananas were looking pretty bad.....

A good use for those bananas is to take them to the pool bar and have a banana daiquri (sp?)
made. Yum!
