Cab to Maho, what else near by

Looking to just take a cab over to Maho, what else is near by? If there a casino? I thought I read that somewhere.

I guess the question would be how far is nearby? Maho itself sits at the end of a runway and other then a relatively small beach there are two adjacent beach bars/restaurants. It would certainly be possible to walk over to the Sonesta (they have a casino).

Two casinos nearby that I know of are the one at the Caravansai Resort which is the resort just through the gates by the Sunset Bar and Grill at Maho Beach and I believe that it opens at 2 pm. The other is about a 5 minute or so walk from Maho beach in the Maho Entertainment area and it's called Casino Royale and it opens at 1 pm I think. There are also some restaurants and shops in the Maho Entertainment area.

It's the Dunes Casino at Caravanserai, and I think it opens at 11, or did right after it got its operating permit a couple years ago, but note that it is slots only, no table games.

 

I agree that Casino Royale opens at about 1:00.

 

There are a couple dozen various shops and at least 6 or 8 restaurants in the Maho Complex, more if you count Subway as a restaurant.
