Transfer to Galveston then shop for wine?

Hello,

 

We are sailing on on the Crown on 2/16. We have transfers with Princess from Hobby to Galveston. Does anyone know if Princess will allow us to drop off our check-in luggage and then walk to one of the liquor stores near the port to buy wine? Also, how long is the bus ride from Hobby to the Pier?

We have never dropped off the luggage and then not boarded right away but I would assume you can do that. There is one little liquor store called Frankies Liquor Store at 2218 Strand which is a main street right near the Pier. I think it is located in between 23rd and 22nd streets on the Strand - I don't know how great a selection they have but they are the only place walking distance to the pier so I would assume they have some. I don't suggest Da'Vine wines which is a little further down as their wines are not very good IMHO! Have fun.

You can either drop your luggage and shop or check in and shop or board the ship and leave it to shop (just be back in time).

 

Bus ride should take a little under an hour once it actually leaves Hobby.

We just dropped off our luggage on the ship and went shopping

before the ship sailed.
