isaiahsnana Posted January 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Is this for Europe and transatlantic only?
jayman31 Posted January 27, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Is this for Europe and transatlantic only? That I don't know...the two I was attempting to book were for Canada/New England out of NYC....try a mock booking and it will tell you if the deposit is reduced....one thing I did notice....I tried to book a 2014 cruise from NOLA and it said 50% off deposit during the rate selection, yet when you got to the final page on that one it still listed $500 so it only applies to 2013 bookings like the promotion material stated that I read earlier today
Redsfan Posted January 27, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2013 did one as well and no change. Not a complete start if one at all
riclop Posted January 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2013 You have 8 hours to wait.
stewpapa Posted January 27, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2013 50% off deposits is not a sale. Sale means a cheaper price.
dbcruzin Posted January 27, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2013 As of now, pricing hasn't changed at all from the last couple days.....Awesome!... lol:p
stefyo Posted January 27, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2013 50% off deposits is not a sale. Sale means a cheaper price. I agree!! I was hoping for a price drop but nope, only difference was 50% deposit.
deborahjo Posted January 27, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2013 My cruise actually increased $204. Of course that is what usually happens during Carnival "Sales". Or that has always been my experience.
MrPete Posted January 27, 2013 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Once again, someone needs to provide a dictionary to the community to look up the word sale. The word everyone is looking for would be reduced for sale, or even on sale.
hockeyluver Posted January 27, 2013 #11 Share Posted January 27, 2013 The cruise i am looking at is the same price it has been for a few weeks, i was waiting on the 50% deposit. Now waiting to see what the friends are booking so we can be close.
gusandgidgetsmom Posted January 27, 2013 #12 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Both of our cruises are up several hundred dollars. I remember when a sale could be a good one. Early nineties at Christmas there was a really good sale. I can understand why they can't make the cruises any cheaper, but wish they would not hype the sales so much. It is not only Carnival that does this tho. The other lines are just as bad. Guess it is called marketing.
tree.critter Posted January 27, 2013 #13 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Waited to book the Blogger 2014 cruise, no reduced deposit for 2014 dates, only this year. :(
MissMeggieMurphy Posted January 27, 2013 #14 Share Posted January 27, 2013 i would think that for a lot of people not having to tie up so much money on a deposit is a good thing, especially if placing the deposit on a revolving credit card. might not be a sale as far as total price but it does help the pocket book for a time. Yet some people prepay their tips months in advance before they even have to. Go figure. BTW, deposits used to be $200. Did that change? If so, who changed it? tattoos Posted January 27, 2013 #17 Share Posted January 27, 2013 As with all Carnival "sales", lots of smoke and mirrors.
marter99 Posted January 27, 2013 #18 Share Posted January 27, 2013 This time they didn't even call it a sale, they called it an "event". At least they didn't lie about it, this time, lol. At least if I don't book this week, I won't miss the sale :)
lives to cruise Posted January 27, 2013 #19 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Carnival is not posting this as a "sale". If you look at the promos it states it is the Awesome-ation "EVENT".

teaach Posted January 27, 2013 #24 Share Posted January 27, 2013 I booked my Breeze cruise in December 2012. It was a Casino rate with$50 casino credit. I always get a balcony, but no ext. afts were available, so I picked Lido deck. A couple of days later I called Carnival and asked to be put on a wait list for an ext. aft balcony. They said others were in front of me on the list, but they would add me and call me if anything came up, which was doubtful.. I scour these boards a lot, checking the Carnival website about 5 times per day. Two days later in a mock booking I spy an ext aft on Empress deck for my sailing. I called immediately and after a few pvps' and a long discussion a $400 upgrade for the extended aft went to a casino rate of only $40 I jumped on it. No afts have been available since then. During this current sale my orig. casino rate for a balcony has dropped about $150 pp. I could call Carnival, but there is nothing to trade up for. Have to be happy with my current excellent room. I am still ecstatic! New ship, more restaurants, 5D theater, etc. Woot, Woot!
hollygirl2004 Posted January 27, 2013 #25 Share Posted January 27, 2013 It shows up on my 2014 cruise when i do a mock booking, I asked my pvp about it and she said if it shows up there then its available. I just tried a mock booking for 2014 and I am not getting the 1/2 deposit.. its asking for 500.00 for 2 on a 7 day cruise.. where is the sale?? :( DANG IT!!!
