Carnival Spirit with no kids!

Well, not many kids.

 

I am on the Spirit's first cruise to NZ. Was a little worried, going on previous reviews regards kiddy numbers and feral rugrats running amok. Well, all is good on this cruise. Probably good timing with school just starting back. No firm number, but have heard from several other cruisers there are just over 300 kids on board..

 

What I didn't expect is that it appears that my wife and I would be below the median age of all passengers (we are just 50). Looks like the oldies have claimed the ship back - till next school holidays anyways.

I was on its 2nd voyage out of Sydney (vanuatu etc) and there were 650 kids on board and school had been back for 2 weeks!

You always seem get an older crowd on NZ cruises, but it is a great cruise

Interesting, I'm surprised about the ages you stated there as well. Though it is a tough time for younger ones as the holiday period winds up so many have had their break and have to go back.
