SDCfirsttimeer Posted February 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2013 So I know that RC allows wine onboard and I also know the $25 fee if you drink it in the restaurants, etc..... But - is there any problems with bringing it on our flight from Boston to Puerto Rico? Can't really stop on the way to the ship once there because we have transfers. Thank you for your help! Alicia1834 Posted February 2, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2013 I believe you would have to pack it in your checked baggage and it shouldn't be a problem. They sell wine sleeves, at liquor stores, that are basically bubble wrap in the shape of a wine bottle, so that it doesn't break.
M&M Hayden Posted February 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2013 You would have to buy the wine once you go thru security at the airport. OR if you bought it before hand you would have to put it in your checked luggage.
Cigar King Posted February 3, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2013 With the luggage weight restrictions, I find it is easier to just buy a couple of bottles once you arrive. Stop on the way to the port. Google a store in advance, so you can tell the driver where to go.

There is a liquor store right in the cruise terminal on the second floor. They have what ever you want. :) No need to fly with it.
dixieva Posted February 3, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2013 I have heard others say that wine put in their checked luggage caused them to get called to the "naughty room". The x-ray will show bottles and they have to make sure it's not hard liquor which is not allowed. So I would have the wine in your carry on to avoid that issue. That's in OSJ. When we have embark on RC, X and Princess ships in SJ it was always at the Pan American cruise terminal on Isla Grande which is across the harbor and canal from OSJ. There is a liquor store that has wine on the entry level just across from the check in counters at that terminal
