Getting to port early, place to sit?

Due to very early flight, we will get to port in Ft Lauderdale around 10 am. Will we be able to go into waiting area and find a place to sit or will we have to wait outside until it opens? time?

Thank you,

Lynn

If your plane arrives at 10, by the time you get your luggage and get a cab, they should have begun boarding by the time you get to port. If all else fails, sit on your luggage...don't turn it over to the porters until they let you into the check-in area!

About 18 months ago, we had to arrive at the port early. We arrived at 10:10am. There was one security line open and one check in point. They checked us in and we sat in some black chairs with others that arrived early. They gave us the compass for day one to read. The people working the area were careful to understand where the diamond and above were sitting, where the suite folks were, etc. When boarding started at around 11, we boarded as directed by the ladies. We noticed that people who came later were waiting in a different area.

Hope this helps.

I know in San Juan they didn't let anyone in the building until 11 AM, but we then went straight onto the ship. I know in other ports we have arrived as early as 10:00 and just waited in the lounge.

If you are sailing Oasis/Allure, you should definitely be able to get in the building by 10 and then go upstairs and sit.

If you are sailing on either Oasis or Allure, they begin boarding at about 11:15am. The time you collect your bags and get a taxi to Port Everglades (10 minutes) you will be able to check in and head upstairs to the embarkation lounge (with plenty of seats).
