PelicanLvr Posted February 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2013 We returned recently from the Eclipse 14 night sailing from January 12-26, 2013. I purchased the premium beverage package prior to sailing during one of the 10% off sales. Before Boarding I was a bit unsure how this beverage package would work in the specialty restaurants. Mostly, it worked quite well although it does depend on the wine server. The attentiveness in Murano & Tuscan was outstanding (especially JB in Tuscan) but in Qsine it took a bit of effort to get the next glass. After we sat down for dinner and the wine steward came by, I simply told them politely that I had the premuim package and would like them to select wines within the package price to complement dinner. They were very welcoming in return and responded "to leave it to them". Each time a course came, so did a different bottle of wine to try a glass. It was really fun to try different wines with each course of each meal. Watch out for JB, he brings you an after dinner drink as well! Was a bit concerned before sailing, but the package was just fine!
Tomato53 Posted February 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Thanks for sharing your experience. I like your idea to leave the pairing to the wine steward - that also lets them know to continue the service throughout the meal.
eadien7 Posted February 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2013 We did the same thing on our Med cruise, we had great fun with the wine steward with both the pairing and the after dinner drink. She would surprise us with the after dinner drink!
marieps Posted February 12, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2013 We were on your sailing and had the exact same experience. Qsine's wine service was VERY slow. Tuscan's was superb. JB is awesome.
