RCCL Drink Prices

Could you tell me what was included in the cruise price VS extra charges?

Such as Specialty Coffee's? Extra Ice Cream? Soft Serve is included, Ben and Jerry's is extra Juice at Breakfast? Fresh squeezed OJ is extra, "regular" oj, apple, cranberry juice is included Johnnie Rocket Shakes? Extra, in addition to cover charge to get in

I heard that if you purchase the Premium Drink Package Specialty Coffee's are included.

As you can tell this is my First RCCL Cruise.

All other information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

On a 7 night cruise you will pay for the first day, which doesnt start til after lunch, then 3 of the days you are off ship. Is it still worth it? Can you drink that much after 4 pm on a port day? Lol. We go to an all inclusive when in port. Dont think we could handle enough to break even!

Have spent the last several weeks doing a significant amount of research here on this topic. My girlfriend and I are pretty "avid" drinkers and are taking our 1st cruise on FOS next week. I'll try to sum up what I've learned

1) Consider your itinerary. If your visiting one of RCI's private islands, Labadee or Coco Cay, your drink package carries over to the port. Any drinks purchased on the island are covered.

2) The $770 total (2 people 7 nights) INCLUDES the 15% that will be added to the cash drinks.

3) Not a tequila drinker but for those of you who are PATRON IS NOT INCLUDED

4) Beers over $6.25 ARE NOT INCLUDED, however I've heard the pub has roughly 30 beers and only 3-4 fall into that category.

5) Super premium whiskeys such as scotches over 12 yrs old ARE NOT INCLUDED

6) Several high end vodkas such as Grey Goose, Chopin, and Belvedere ARE INCLUDED

7) People seem to enjoy the convenience of not signing slips.

As previously stated I am a rookie. This is simply a short list of information I've compiled in my research on CC. I was also a little hesitant to admit to myself we would run a nearly $800 bar tab, but be honest with yourself. For us I felt it was a pace we could handle especially considering my girl drinks top shelf martinis and cosmos, and I drink rum like a pirate. Even if they beat me for $50 by the end of the week, not having to keep a running tally and possibly have to protest something on the bill sounds well worth it to me

My husband and I have taken multiple cruises together, we too are both "avid" (I like that term) drinkers. We enjoy drinks poolside, love those frozen fufu drinks, and we usually can enjoy a before dinner drink or two, then several after dinner at any of the bars with good music. Long story short, we usually have about 900 to 1000 bar bill.

I find it refreshing to know how much our bill will be, no arguing with the hubby about overspending, yada yada ya. Vacation is about relaxing, this is just one more way to relax, drink what you like, no surprises at the end. For us, this is a GREAT option. Yeah RCCL!

Couldn't agree more. We are leaving next Sunday for a 9 day and are leaving highly ( ok definetly lol) towards purchasing. I like the not having to worry about tallying and continually checking how much we have spend on just drinks. It's also our honeymoon cruise so we don't mind splurging a bit. I think overall it will be worth it and we can explore new drinks that we normally would not order due to not wanting to pay the high price and then not like it....

Thanks, and yes, well aware of that. I'm just hesitating spending $770 on booze for us. That seems like a lot at first glance, but that's why I'm trying to do the math.

If beers are $5 and wells are $7, say we split our orders 1beer:1well, we'd need to each drink >10 drinks each per day to break even.

So if we each do this, which is "reasonable" for us, we'd be even money.

1 morning mimosa

1 drink before dinner

2 drinks with dinner

6 throughout the day by the pool, or at the casino

Total: 10 drinks @ avg $6 each x 6.5 drinking days (half Sunday through Saturday night), that equals $780 versus $770 for the package.

Seems like it might be worth it assuming we pack our drinking shoes.

I think given what you drink you will find it much cheaper to pay as you go.

i love my fosters and even at around 8dollars a large can id have to drink 7 cans of 750 ml a day to make it worth while having a package and thats a lot of beer

5.25 litres or 9 .25 pints

every day !

Thank you, this really puts it into our perspective for DH and I to purchase. I think our total bill last round was a bit over $1000, with 2 spa treatments and some bingo ON TOP OF all of our drinks ;) And, sad to admit, we were on a port intensive cruise last go around!! We loved the wine package last cruise, one reason was re-boarding after island life all day, walking into Schooner, and walking out with a bottle of wine and two glasses. I would imagine the same "freedom" with this package.

We're sailing on EOS this Saturday (Feb 16th) First cruise for us - so we're VERY excited. Purchased the Premium Drink Package ($990 total) Seems like a lot, but to really ENJOY oursevles and not count $$'s a couple days into the cruise, it's actually a good deal. Been reading all the threads on subject and most people agree.....

Fingers crossed...

Hope you come back to tell us how you like/didn't like this package, after the cruise!

I called and double checked and they told me yes and it does show up on their Drink Menu.

Yea this was the answer I was noticing several times in other postings....we sail Sunday so we will purchase package upon boarding and triple check. Not that it's a deal breaking but I like to know our options. Thanks,

Have a save cruise and great time. I leave April 7 on AOS. Let me know what you thought of the premium drink package when you get back. Not sure I will drink enough to cover the cost.

  • 1 month later...

Just wanted to ask and please dont flame me :)

Being from the UK we are not really a "tip" based culture as I am sure you know.

Where as as far as i am aware its part of normal day life in America.

So my question is , if 15% Tip is added to every drink price ontop of the base price , why isnt that just the price of the drink?

Or is this tip actually optional ?

I have chose to pre pay my "grats/ tips " before I sail on my Europe cruise in the summer is this extra 15% for drinks included in that?

Or is this 15% something thats only on american based cruises?

I am not "anti" tipping btw just trying to get it all clear in my head.

Or is this tip actually optional ? Not as far as I am aware.

Or is this 15% something thats only on american based cruises? No, it is charged on all sailings that I have been on departing from European ports such as Barcelona and Civitavecchia.

I am not "anti" tipping btw just trying to get it all clear in my head.

I hope the above helps.
