Villefranche, dream tours vs revelation

We used Dream Tours in July 2012 from Cannes. Frederick was our driver for the day. It was a whirlwind to visit all the places you listed. We did not spend much time in Nice (we had been there before). If you do want to spend time there, you might have to sacrifice another destination.

We did have a wonderful time, Fred was very good about narration and driving.

I would definitely recommend them.

Just thinking we could do that itinerary for about 100 Euros. Here is how. Pick up rental car at Villefranche. Drive to Nice (about 10 min) and stop at the Cours Selaya for the morning Flower Market. Then back in the car and over to St Paul de Vence (about 25-30 min) where we park in the nice garage (about 5 Euros) until we are ready to leave. Then back over to Eze Village (parking lot is right in front of the entrance to the Village) and finally continue along the Middle Corniche (this is the road that fronts Eze) to Monte Carlo (actually would not do this part since DW hates MC) and finally from MC along the coastal road back to Villefranche. Total cost of this tour would be about 100 Euros plus the cost of a nice lunch :)

Thanks! We plan on not doing much in Monaco/Monte Carlo. Will spend more time in St. Paul de Vence. Glad to hear Dream Tours was good...think we will probably go with them.

Thanks. We will have a group of 8 which really reduces the cost. We have never been to Europe and would prefer to not be driving. Maybe next time we will drive to save money! This trip we just want to sit back and enjoy :)

With a group of 8 a private tour makes a lot of sense. But for the record, we do not rent cars, use trains, buses, feet, etc....to save money. DW and I have been traveling extensively for over forty years and consider a "tour" as just one more 4 letter word. We generally prefer to do our own thing which allows us to go where we want, when we want, with whom we want. Our basic rule for booking excursions (public or private) is that we only use an excursion when it does something we cannot reasonably do on our own.

I should add that some of our best entertainment in Europe is when we sit in a very well located outdoor café sipping wine and eating a nice lunch as we watch the tour groups moving by....kind of like cattle in a herd. People watching can be a source of infinite entertainment.

P.S. The first time we visited Columbus we actually managed quite well without a tour :)
