Questions about taxi to Mamamee Bay/Bamboo Blu Restuarant

Hi,

Will be on a cruise on Carnival Freedom week of March 3, 2013. Just read on Trip advisor that this beach is very nice. Wondering a) can anyone tell me the taxi cost from cruise port to this beach? and b) do you think it was safe enough for 2 women (50's) traveling alone???

We were there just last month and LOVED that beach!! We booked through Peat Taylor and his son actually stayed with us the whole time. I would feel safe with just another gal with me. It's pretty private, next door to an RIU Time Share Resort, so we weren't hassled or anything. We paid $30.pp for the beach, then he drove us east of Ocho where we saw Ian Fleming's estate (from a distance,) then he drove us around the neighborhood where he grew up.
