Alaska Sealife Center in Seward

Will have some time before boarding our ship on 15June and wonder if this would be a worthwile place to visit. How close is it to the docks?

It's about a mile and a half from the docks and is well worth a visit. It's not a large facility but the exhibits and displays are well done. Check out their website at http://www.alaskasealife.org

We also like the SeaLife Center, and recommend visiting the facility.

 

The OP doesn't state how much time they have between arriving in Seward and boarding their ship. If they have enough time, another option would be a visit to Exit Glacier.

Everyone is different. I recall reading someone's comments who said 30 minutes was enough. For us, we needed more time as I was reading each exhibit board and spending lots of time watching the animals in each exhibit. Some people just find that kind of boring I guess. We also took the Behind the Scenes Tour which we loved. I think we spent about 3.5 hours there total, and wished we had more time. For me, it was very worthwhile!!!
