Where is the best snorkeling in Belize?

My husband and I like to snorkel; unfortunately we don't know how to dive. Where is the best place to go snorkeling in Belize? If you happen to know a good company to go through, that would be really helpful too. We went snorkeling off a boat in Grand Cayman and it was so beautiful. We went from a beach in Antigua and in Cozumel, and it wasn't nearly as pretty. We probably just didn't know the right places to go, so that's why I'm asking you guys in advance.

Thanks for any input you can give me.

We took the water taxi to Caye Caulker & found someone there to take us to the same reef the ship excursions go to - - several people offered to take us for $25 pp, we ended up going for $17.50 pp, the water taxi was also $17.50 pp - - snorkeled in 2 places including Shark/Ray Alley

What time did you leave on the water taxi? Who took ya'll snorkling? Do you know the name of the outfit? How long were ya'll out? 35pp for the taxi and snorkle is a great price! Thanks for all your help!

We used Belizerays (http://www.belizerays.com) and they took us to the barrier reef... It was great.... the best I had seen anywhere. This is a first class operation and the staff was wonderful... after snorkeling they took us to Water Cay the home of Coral Beach Resort and we had the island to ourselves for 1.5 hours.... check out their web site you will not be disappointed

I've seen Belizerays.com all over Cruise Critic, but I can't get into the site. It asks for a user name and password for authorization to enter. Makes it pretty hard to find out about their business.

LisaRae - did you ever try snuba? It is awesome and if you like snorkeling you should love it. You don't need to know how to dive - they train you right there. We are doing the snuba adventure in belize when there in Sept. We've done snuba in the caymans and also in nassau. highly recommended!
