bayprince Posted February 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Seeking recommendations for easy, reliable, and fairly-priced transportation between 1). London airports (all) to Dover docks and 2). Rome (Fuimicino) to Civitavecchia docks. Solo male traveler w/ 2 pieces of luggage. Thanks for your advice. feathersandnananose Posted February 27, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2013 You might find your answers on the sister site, TripAdvisor (can I put that in print?), in their forums for England and Italy. There are both trains and coaches (buses) that go from London to Dover. I'm beginning to look into the options myself: the bus takes longer, but your (big) luggage goes into the bus hold and you go straight to Dover. For the train, you don't "check" your bags. Small ones go with you and the big ones go into an open area on your carriage..... and there may be one or two changes of trains (in which you'll have to lug your bags off and on....) At any rate, as I said, I'd look elsewhere for real help. and....I'm VERY open to correction for those in the know.
