dolphinsfan246 Posted February 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2013 Booked a balcony room on the Ecstasy and thought it would have the couch that converts to a bed like we had on the Freedom and Liberty. I now realize we are going to have a upper bed for the third person. Has anybody sailed in a room like this, specifically with 3 adults? Just a little bit concerned about this. Any responses appreciated :D Thanks!

I am sure we will make due, however I wondered if a rollaway bed might be available?

Any responses appreciated :D Thanks! We did, on Norwegian. Not really adults, but 2 teenagers over 6', around 190 lbs. They were perfectly fine. I offered to trade with my very picky 6'3" son, but he said it was really comfortable (but he wouldnt want to sit and read or anything..actually he never wants to read~ :D)

KenMo Posted February 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2013 We had a cabin like that on Victory. My adult son slept on the upper with no problems.
Mutumbojimbo Posted February 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2013 I haven't sailed with 3 adults but we had our 15 year old son in an upper berth, and he's pretty well grown (I hope). He had enough room. It worked out all right but it did make maneuvering around the room a little challenging. That said, if you have trouble with ladders, or need a box spring, then an upper may not work out.
jlk806 Posted February 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2013 We stayed in 2 rooms like that on the Ecstacy last summer, a group of 6 girlfriends in our 20s, 3 in each room. We are all on the small side, so one girl just took the bunk in each room. No big deal.
SteelerCruiser Posted February 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2013 on the Fascination we had 4 adults and my child in a cabin. was a little cramped at times but really not that big of a deal. We had all the beds split apart and my son was on a roll away that we folded up during the day.

VABeach Posted February 21, 2013 #10 Share Posted February 21, 2013 I've slept in the top bunk a couple of times. It'll be fine. ;)
Ehpride Posted February 21, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 21, 2013 I slept in the upper. It was fine, but I don't recommend it for anyone who gets up frequently at night. I prefer the couch as a third bed, but that's more because I don't like heights.

Any responses appreciated :D Thanks! Our party of three had no problems with this set-up on the Paradise. My daughter slept on the upper bunk. She admitted it was not AS comfy as the regular beds, but she slept very well.
Colorado Kat Posted February 21, 2013 #13 Share Posted February 21, 2013 We just had 4 people in a room, with sofa & upper. I was surprised by how well we all fit. Are you sure you can't get the room switched to one with a sofa?
cantwait2cruise Posted February 21, 2013 #14 Share Posted February 21, 2013 My husband and I went with a friend of his on Imagination and the friend slept on the upper. He's a pretty big guy and he did fine with it.
