  1. We docked in Hamburg on Oct. 15. It was 12 Euros for the Shuttle that dropped us off at a mall near the city hall. We took a hop on / hop off bus. We rode it around the loop, then got off at St. Michael's. The church was beautiful. We walked down to the Elbphilharmonie, then used the pedestrian tunnel under the Elbe to walk back, but we could have taken the bus back to the shuttle.
  2. We just got back from the Euribia. , For the theater shows, you have to book the day of (or the night before) when the activities for the day become available in the MSC for me app. There was a shuttle to Rotterdam Centraal station but I did not see an excursion to Amsterdam. However, it was a short walk from the ship to a Metro stop, then we rode the D train to Rotterdam Centraal, I think that was 4 stops. At Rotterdam Centraal, we got a train to Amsterdam Centraal, that ride was about 40 minutes, It was very easy, we only speak English and had never been to Europe before. As long as you can tap in and out of the gates for the subways and trains, you won't have trouble. I did put an app (NS, I think) for the Netherlands Rail on my phone, which made it easy to see train times.
  3. We just disembarked in Southampton and were at the National Express station by 8:30. We got a 9:30 bus and were at Victoria station around Noon. I'm not sure of the train schedules, but the train station is even closer to the cruise terminal.
  4. We're cruising on the Euribia late this fall. The shore excursions PDF has excursions listed on Embarkation Day but they are not on the app. The Customer service folks I called said they could book those for us but could not explain how it would work with embarkation and said, that would be a question for the "onboard" staff. Obviously, we can't ask the onboard staff until we are on board. A classic catch-22 but not completely surprising from MSC. Has anyone taken an excursion on embarkation day? If so, how does that work, logistically? Thank you!!
  5. I know this is a stretch but we're cruising on the Euribia late this fall. The shore excursions PDF has excursions listed on Embarkation Day but they are not on the app. The Customer service folks I called said they could book those for us but could not explain how it would work with embarkation and that would be a question for the "onboard" staff. Could you ask about this at the Shore Excursion desk or maybe ask if someone there would be able to message me? I can send you my What's App number. If that's too big an ask, I understand. I hope you are enjoying your cruise.
  6. We were not in Yacht Club, but on our recent Meraviglia cruise, we arrived at around 10 and I think boarding started a little after 11:00. I'm sure the YC passengers boarded first, but the last debarkation times on our cruise were 9:30, I think. So it's hard for me to believe that anyone could board much before 10:30.
  7. I would definitely try an urgent care and get the patches before the cruise. I usually post some small review and will be on the Meraviglia in a few weeks, and will try to pay attention to any motion.
  8. Based on my experience, it’s possible that one ship (Virtuosa) could have a strong group putting on their shows, while the group on the Meraviglia is struggling. I’ve seen some shows on Carnival trips that were amazing and on other ships, you wish you could get that time back. I probably would not pay anything to see a show on a cruise, but I’d be disappointed if I did and the performance was lacking, I’d be upset.
  9. I’m struggling with my booking in the Fall and support has been unable to assist me. I emailed the existing reservations address above. Thank you for providing that.
  10. I'm sure that the logistics of adding or removing staff based on passenger capacity would be a nightmare. I expect they would try and keep their ships staffed to a certain level at all times. That doesn't explain major shortages, however. Like any hospitality provider, they should know how many people will be on the ship and have fairly reliable projections on what they need to source to provide for them. I'm cruising on the Meraviglia in February, so I'll get to form my own opinion soon enough.
  11. Although I don't have the answers that the OP is looking for, for anyone struggling with the font, their post reads: "Hello all, just wondering what free beverages are served in the buffet during Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner? Also if anyone knows how fast are the streaming internet speeds on the Divina."
  12. Maybe I'm going right before Spring break, but I have a drink package on a 4-day sailing on the Meraviglia at the end of February. I got the Easy Plus package and wi-fi when I booked, the wi-fi plan is shown as "2 devices".
  13. I booked a cruise this weekend and was able to include the Easy Plus Package and wi-fi (which I probably would have purchased anyway) for an additional $100. I'm not sure how long that promotion will run for, but you might check on that. Other than that, since we're cruising with family, I booked "Fantastica" level cabins, so I could choose the rooms and get everyone on the same deck.
  14. My cruise in October 2023 on the Preziosa was moved to the Euribia. The date was also changed. we got $50/40 pounds in OBC. The images of the Euribia look amazing but it will be the biggest ship we've sailed by far!!
  15. I found this, but I can't find the actual website or find the zipline on Google maps. I appreciate your effort.
  16. We're taking a cruise that visits Hamburg next year, and my family is interested in ziplining. After a few searches, it seems that there might be a zipline in or near Hamburg, but I'm not quite certain. Does anyone know if there is a zipline that is accessible from Hamburg. We're there 12 hours, so we have time to travel outside the city a little. Thank you!

    ISP SkyRider

We went to ISP last week and our arrival was at 6:00 pm, so with limited daylight, there was one excursion for the ziprider. I think you could technically ride the gondolas as much as you wanted, but by the time we went down the ziprider (we were in the last group of out excursion) and got back up to the departure den on the first gondola, they were shutting the second gondola (the one that goes up to the ziprider launch) for the night. Our ship sold a later excursion but cancelled it, so we were lucky we chose to go as soon as the ship docked. I'm sure that if you dock during the day they will offer multiple times, the workers were discussing having a much busier day the following day.
  18. We bought the required 100 shares this summer for about 8.65 per share, so we should make the purchase price back fairly quickly. We cruise with carnival and the occasional HAL trip as a treat, so I thought it was a good idea for us. If we were all about Royal or NCL, I doubt that it would have been a great decision.
  19. We took the Ziprider excursion on a recent stop at Icy Strait Point. The experience was amazing! The staff was friendly and very helpful. There is a 275 lb weight limit (Including my clothes and shoes, I just made it). A link to the video I took with my GoPro is below (I hope). I'm not the best with heights, but I had a great time. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AvXewhc6f8OrhKlbcRbekvhWe6Y1tw?e=qGhvC6
  20. We just returned from a cruise on the Eurodam. We use AirBnB for our precruise arrangements, as the hotels seemed expensive, even for a major city downtown. We absolutely love the Magnolia neighborhood which is on a large hill Northwest of pier 91, it was about a $50 dollar uber/lyft from SeaTac, but we used the light rail and the bus (I know that may be a challenge if you have lots of luggage). There is an amazing bakery, Petit Pierre, and some good restaurants. Pike Place Market downtown is quite the attraction and there is plenty to do by the Space Needle. If the granddaughters like to hike, Discovery Park, also in Magnolia, offers great views, but it was a little strenuous and the maps were not the greatest (at least we got confused). We felt very safe on the light rail and most of the time on the bus, but you need to stay aware. Assuming that the port valet luggage service is still an option next year, you can have your checked luggage sent directly to the airport on the debark day, so that may be an easier day for some of the sightseeing. If the granddaughters like roller coasters etc, the Ziprider at Icy Strait point was an amazing experience but will probably sell out.
  21. I wouldn't normally fax either, except the way the document was written, it seemed like fax was the preferred option. We have fax capability where I work, but it actually all goes through email to a cloud based fax service anyway. 🙂
  22. I got my credit quickly when I emailed. It's too bad that the instructions seem to encourage fax as the preferred method for the request.
  23. I've never cruised with Princess but to us cruising on a ship with 2000 people will almost always top cruising with 3600. You might consider watching a few videos on Youtube. I have seen several videos of Princess ships in Glacier Bay and the open decks look very crowded to me. Of course, the larger ships can offer features that smaller ships don't, so you'll need to decide what is important to you.
