Hi everyone,

I was going to book a cabin on deck 11 at the Oceania Marina when I discovered

That deck 12 is widely covering tu balconies of deck 11. I have heard that there will be almosen no sun. Has Annone experience with deck 11 on the Marina and especially with the balconies.

Thanks. Alf

We had 1146 on the December 27 Valparaiso-Papeete trip and I had the same concerns. However, for that trip we preferred the overhang. There were plenty of places on the ship if you want to get sun - no shortage of lounge chairs. The overhang gave great protection from the tropical rain storms - we sat and read on the balcony during some torrential downpours. In the end, we appreciated the shade and would book that deck again.

I was more concerned with having the pool area right above our cabin, and only once did we hear a minor noise from some chairs being moved.

There is a practical problem of being able to take photographs skyward - the overhang interferes, but it is a short walk to get outside if that is ever a difficulty. Was rare in my experience.

We also made good use of the lounge, in spite of other reports on CC - it is handy having it on the same level as your cabin.

Good luck with your choice.

Our first leg is from Rio to Valparaiso and wie are going to book the starboard side following the advice from Oceania. For the leg from Valparaiso to Papeete they adviced the left side öfter ship. Is there any diffence because wie are the most time on sea. Is ist because of the sun?

Thanks for the answers.

Alf
