booking in advance--WAAY in advance

I was looking to book a vacation for 10/14 over the kids fall break. Sadly I think this will be our next chance to cruise :( I was looking to see what sailings are availible over the kids break and was shocked to see not much is availible to choose from. The only 7 day cruise was Magic. I can't imagine she will be the only ship sailing. I found some good choices on 5-days but only out of Cali/Fla. Am I just looking too soon? Any idea when more will become availible? I'd like to get booked soon so maybe I can afford/book a more premium room. I would also like to get some others interested in joining with this much advance notice they may have a better chance to afford it!

If you look at my signature, you'll see I book WAY in advance, my next cruise is 9/14- that cruise has been booked since 3/12!

However, for a cruise on Carnival, I wouldn't book that far ahead of time. With two years notice, you don't need to worry about things selling out or huge differences in pricing. Book a year ahead if you are an advanced planner!
