skoi13 Posted February 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Thinking about taking our first Carnival cruise in the Fall and have a question about the programming at Camp Carnival. We'll have two 9 year olds eligible. If they're at the program, do they have to do whatever activity is going on, or will they be able to play video/computer games, do arts and crafts etc on their own? That's been our experience on Disney, counselors let them do things on their own while the activity didn't interest them. Thanks.
Julienatul Posted February 22, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Some things are full participation and there is always free play or choice activities during the day. That age group moves all over the ship for sports games, relay races/contests, ice cream breaks etc. so sometimes they have to participate in whatever is going on. skoi13 Posted February 23, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted February 23, 2013 Thanks. I'm sure they'll have a good time, and if not, then they'll spend more time swimming or golfing. I noticed the Disney program for kids under 11 spends a lot of time in the area-- they don't go out on deck and play games, etc so if a child doesn't want to participate in the activity they just leave them alone. If he'd be allowed to, our youngest would spend the entire vacation in the club on Wii since we don't have one. Which is what he did every time he went to the club at Disney.
