You can get money from your onboard account, however there is a 3%surcharge so it is cheaper to just bring cash for gambling.

I'd bring cash, if possible. You can get cash from the cashier with your key card, but it will cost you the 3%. Also, don't forget to get a player's card and use it when you gamble.

You can also purchase casino credits prior to sailing (sort of like OBC).

There is also an ATM in the casino. $5.75 fee which is cheaper then the 3% if you get more then $200 US.

Yes it is. Some ships have it and others don't. As a matter of fact, Celebrity raised their's to, I think, 5%.

I think NCL was one of the last to add it. Too many non gamblers used the casino as a bank.

You can also wire transfer the cash directly to your account thru the Casino at Sea department, there maybe a minimum amount that you have to transfer though.

Yes you can. You go to the counter and say I'd like xx amount charged to my room. There is a 3% charge so $100 costs you $103. It shows up on your bill as a debit that can be offset by OBC.

 

The nice thing is if you have a substantial amount of OBC you can do this, get cash and pocket it rather than putting it into the machines.

I like some of the 50% payoff options on the NCL website (pre-cruise: buy $10 of chips, but get $15.) Sure, it's like a free dose of heroin or a cheap razor, but it's still a good deal.

As a side note, if you purchase a future cruise credit, they give you $100 obc, on the jade recently they gave you a voucher to convert the $100 obc to $125 slot play credit.
