Question re water levels, again

Hi, we are looking at booking our second river cruise going 2014. We will go Scenic again as none of us could fault anything. Next year they are offering some new itineries in France. This may be a silly question but I'm not sure if there are locks etc. do I need be concerned about water levels. Also what would be the best time of year to go?

Yes, there are locks on the Seine, Rhone and Saone. None on the Garonne, Dordogne or the Gironde Estuary.
