hi, can any one help, new to this so here goes, going on Thomson spirit 3/4/13 around holy land and just wondering if any one has any news as to the unrest in port said, ect, and if any trips have been cancelled or changed, I do hope not as been looking forward to this (my first) cruise, :D:D:D

Hi we will be on the same cruise, everything seems fine at the moment, if for any reason Thompson have to cansel a port of call they normally swop to another port, but hopefully everything should be fine, you have picked a great itinerary for your first cruise.:)

there is some good trips to do, been to Egypt loads but not done Cairo and pyramids. not long now,:D

If you look at that F.O. website there is a red area which looks like an area you would have to pass through to get to Petra,,clearly that would not be a good idea if it's designated as a "we advise against all travel" area?? So,,would the Petra trip still go ahead under such circumstances?

hope all the trips go ahead as the country needs our ££££ and we need there sun and culture, 35 :D days to go so hopefully things might be on the up.

Petra is in Jordan, no travel through Egyptian territory from the port of Aquaba.

 

Thomsons will not take excursions anywhere there is a risk.

today we have got an email from thomson saying we will not be going to port said.having another day in alexandria.we are traveling 6 march

There is no need for them to go to Port Said really.....they can do the trips to Cairo from Alexandria so it makes sense to stay there for two days.....:)

thanks 4 that . it is a longer travel time to Cairo from Alexandria, every time I book to go to Cairo they start fighting ect, mayby im not ment to go there. o well thanks loads and have a good cruise :D:D
