thomson spirit..beer--casino

Recommended Posts

does any one know what the choice of beer is on the spirit, as in bitter- lager, and what's the casino like , not that I drink or gamble  :D ~

honest, and is deck 5 noisy, :( thanks in advance/// :D

Our friendly neighbourhood Thomsons TA emailed me this TUI Bar List, as attached - we have booked the drinks package on Spirit (no pun intended) for later this year.

It's not the exact same menu across all four ships in the fleet - but I assume this must apply to Spirit.

The default draught is "San Miguel" lager (unless changed recently) which is quite passable.

The drinks package canned beer on offer is Boddingtons - obviously TUI like to inflict cruel and unusual punishment on ale drinking clients !!!

Can't comment on the casino, or the noise on deck 5.

its 4 years since I have been on spirit?...but I believe all thoms casinos have been recently changed (made smaller)

you should find 1 poker, 1 black jack & 1 roulette table plus slots, casino is only open while ship is sailing and doesnt really get going until after the theatre shows (about 10pm)

£2 minimum bet and (I believe it is now) £10 maximum

also have a fun casino on sea days (£3 for 20 fun chips) you dont win any money...its for fun

hope this helps

Thats £2 for poker and blackjack and actually £2.50 for roulette as each chip is 50p and you have to bet a minimum of 5 of them.

I don't play the slots but i think the minimum bet is lower, maybe even below 50p ?

£2 is a very low bet for a table game. P&O is £3 and the american ships $5 and even $25 dollar tables.

How do you mean Dave, ref. roulette ?

Five chips placed together on any one bet, or five chips per play in any of the combinations/options ?

Seems daft to have 50p chips then insist that five must be played together ?

Unless TUI have a surplus "50p chip mountain" and don't want to replace them with £2.50s tokens !!!

5 chips per play subject to the minimum bet on each number/combination

inside numbers - minimum 1 chip

red/black etc - minimum 10 chips?

50p is the minimum a chip can be but you can ask for them to represent £1, £5, £20 etc or subject to the table maximums even bet a 'cash' chip if no one else is doing so. For example walk up to the table with two £5 chips, ask 'can i put this on zero, yes, zero comes in, walk away with £350 profit, everyone at the table goes crazy. Or even better leave the bet on, comes in again :D:D:D

I have heard of this on P&O with a £25 chip but i was not in the casino at the time. He ended the week several thousand up

o well it sounds nothing like the casino I use at Blackpool. 50p min bet up to £200 for a single bet o well time will tell, and I guess there is 00 as well as 0 that drops your odds of winning 23% I think, not sure but its loads, so the house is on a bigger win win o well.

Best game for not losing money is blackjack where you can get the house advantage down to well below 1%, 0.51417% if you know how to play it perfectly. My favourite game.

They have 5 card casino stud on spirit. Mindless violence IMO. i have seen people almost fighting to get on the table and lose their money :D house advantage 5.224% but element of risk is 2.555% because house edge calculations don't include bets you raise (wizardoffoddsdotcom)

the roulette is american style with a 00 so the house advantage is 5.26%

the casino is a good laugh, just don't expect to win any money ;)

Watch out for the casino win £10,000 scam

You select 6 numbers between 1 and 36

They use the roulette wheel to select the numbers.

The chance of winning that £10,000 are

1,673,760,000 to 1 approx

or about 110 times more difficult than winning the jackpot on the lottery

:eek::eek::eek:

I might have been writing a load of rubbish here. The above odds were based on having your numbers drawn is sequence.

The other way ist to have the draw in any sequence, even then if they sell 4,000 tickets a week the £10,000 prize should be won about once every five years.

Any one know anything about probabilities?
