4th of July in Caribbean?

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anything special goes on, on the ship when it is July 4th? We'll be in San Juan on the Navigator of the Seas this 4th (docked from 2-10PM). Appreciate hearing from anyone who has been there, done that, in past years!

I've been on Carnival and RCCL on two of the last three 4th of July's--one was W. Carib and the other E. Carib itinerary. One was a sea day and the other was in Grand Cayman. Fireworks are prohibited for safety reasons so don't expect an elaborate display. Both times the ship celebrated by having Americana food for dinner (BBQ, apple pie, etc.) and by having patriotic backgrounds for pictures. A lot of people came prepared by buying the $5 Old Navy t-shirts for dayware and lots of red, white, and blue attire for dinner. Some balconies had banners of flags flying....
