Stateroom location

After reading the thread first noisy cabin, I am concerned about the empty rectangle across from our and my in-law's cabin. We are in B6191 and B6196 on the Amsterdam. Does anyone know what is in that empty space? Should I be concerned?

Part of it is the funnel.

The lower you go in the decks the more likely that empty space will house some of the ships heavy mechanical equipment - we had problem for the first few weeks getting an unpleasant 'hot electrical smell" in our hallways directly opposite that "blank interior space". But later it was gone.

Being that high up -- you should not have any problems with noise from the smoke stack.

We did a 115-day world cruise in 6191 and had no noise issues.
