Is tequila any cheaper here?

I have never compared prices in both ports but I would think with all the competition in Cozumel the prices would be better there.

Tip - The jewelery stores in downtown San Miguel give free sample of tequila as you browse.:)

Some common brands are cheaper than the US. And you can find finer quality sipping styles not available here. Prices are about the same in the duty free shops. In Cozumel, you can go to the Mega Mart or Chedurai just before reaching downtown for good local prices. There's a couple of places in the downtown plaza that also sell Tequila. On the north side of town there's Covi, a large liquor store near Ave 30 and Calle 2.

In Costa Maya, there's a Tequila Museum in Neuvo Mahahual (old Las Casitas, for those of you who haven't been here in a couple of years) that you can see from the pier. There is a liqour store(more of a tienda) on Huiachinango (the road taxis take to the Malecon from the port) before the soccer field. Not sure of their selection, but it's where Don Fernando of 100% Agave fame, is working now, according to recent visitors.
