We ussually sail Princess and use thier shore excursions and transfers. May do the same on Oceania but they are a lot more money. Any advice on anything is appricated. pacheco18 Posted March 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2013 You will meet fellow cruisers on your roll call and can find others to share private tours as well -- a far cheaper (and better IMO) way to do shore excursions. Go to Oceania roll calls Find the roll calls for the ship (e.g. Marina Roll Calls, Nautica Roll Calls etc) you are on Open that link and find the roll call for your specific cruise and post on it. If no one has started a roll call yet, you can be first!
Tansy Mews Posted March 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2013 Just checked and I see you did post on your roll call. Great! You might check the recent discussion about St. Petersburg as well. That's the only place we used a tour - privately arranged through SPB Tours. Here is a link to the discussion: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1799234 I love the Marina and so do many others! If you have specific questions about the ship or services or food or ambiance, you can ask here. To discuss specific ports of call and tours, use your roll call. You might also like to check out Oceania's FAQ: https://www.oceaniacruises.com/guestservices/default.aspx As you see, it is filed under Guest Services at the top of the homepage of the Oceania website. marky63 Posted March 12, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted March 12, 2013 thanks for the advice. Is La Reserve worth the price? Not so much the wine but the food. We like wine but are not that well versed.
Boreus Posted March 13, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 13, 2013 Is La Reserve worth the price? There is a wide divergence of opinion on La Reserve. In my experience it is a good restaurant but not worth the price. I would as soon go to one of the specialty restaurants, especially Red Ginger, any evening. I am sure others will disagree.
