I was wondering do they keep the mini putt balls with the clubs?

I actually do not know....I can't believe I took a picture of the clubs, and didn't notice if the balls were right there...must not have had enough caffeine yet.

Are the restaurants at the port in Falmouth?

 

 

Yes, the picture of margaritaville was taken in the immediate port area. Saw a few other places to eat...I remember Dairy Queen and something like a quizno's subs or something like that...don't remember seeing a whole lot in the way of actual restaurants right there.

We did not try this, but I just did a quick search and according to some other posters, they were able to walk up and rent them on the spot. This was Jan 2013, and the cost listed in their post was $15 per half hour.

Maximum 6 people per cabana.

Where were we? Ok, Day 4, Falmouth continued:

 

After lunch, it was DH's turn to be adventurous and try out the flowrider...he was waiting for a port day when he thought he'd have a smaller audience. On sea days the flowrider has pretty constant hours. Today, being a port day, there was a morning session and then an afternoon session. We just missed the morning session, so we headed that way in the afternoon. He lasted a bit longer than I did, as I actually was able to get a few pics of him standing up on his own:

Out of sequence side note: I just realized that I never addressed breakfast this morning...I just wanted to mention it because it was the only time we went to the MDR for breakfast or lunch. I want to say we went around 8:00, and were surprised at the number of people there. I ordered an omelet (of course)....our waiter warned me that this would take awhile as it had to be cooked to order and they were busy. Well, that was fine with me, as we had no plans to race off the ship first thing. DH saw banana pancakes on the kids menu, and ordered that. It did take awhile for the omelet to come, and while it was good, I don't think it was any better than those I had at Johnny Rockets. If you want a quicker sit down breakfast, Johnny Rockets might be a better choice. We were invited to help ourselves from the buffet while we waited for breakfast to arrive, which DH did.

Day 4, Falmouth, continued:

 

Tonight was our 2nd night in the MDR, with reservations at 6:00. We were promptly led back to a table in Jeldon and Denzil's section.

I had the Spinach dip, and then I was having trouble deciding between the Chicken Caesar and the Conchiglioni pasta. Based on Jeldon's reccomedation, I went with the pasta, and it did not disappoint.

DH tried both the Hot Harira soup, and the chilled Mango pineapple soup.

He got the Shrimp Gyoza, which I believe was one of his favorite entrees during the week.

I'd also add that throughout the week, all of our food arrived at the correct temperature.

For dessert, we both had the warm chocolate cake.

 

While it was nice to have our table for two, we also enjoyed that the other tables for two were within chatting distance. Had some great conversations with our "tablemates" during the week. We especially enjoyed meeting Tony and Beth, and hearing some of their stories from their many years of cruising:)

 

Tonight was the Headliner show, for us at 8:30. Our headliner was a group called "Vox audio"...an a cappella group. For us, it was just OK. We didn't find the entertainers voices to be that strong. We both agreed that it may have just been that the other shows were so impressive, that this one just suffered in comparison.

 

After the show, we caught part of the Oasis of Dreams show again from one of the "secret balconies". Neat to see the show from a different angle.

 

At 10:00, there was a "Flow Show" put on by the sports staff on the flowriders...I had seen it listed in the Compass, and we caught it in progress:

After this, we decided to check out "The Quest" as we had yet to experience this. As we were waiting for it to start, we almost headed out as it was getting kinda late...I was glad we stayed. Lots of good fun. I'm not sure how it gets, but ours was just PG-13 rated I'd say. We mostly watched, although I was launched on to the top of 18 people standing on one Royal Caribbean towel:)

I'm actually going from New Orleans-Rome on the Naviagtor in three weeks time. I got a special for an Ocean View for $649 for 15 nights+$300 OBC so it was hard to pass up.

 

If I go on the Oasis I will spend lots of time in the Solairum and book the overwater cabanas at Labadee.

 

The Central Park reminds me of an Embassy Suites Hotel with the light coming in but I would not want a room over Central Park I want a Balcony or Owners Suite.

We were on that cruise too.. We also rented a cabana. You can rent them 90 days out. Don't wait too long because there aren't that many. We paid $250. You get a special ride to the cabana and eat lunch in a special area.

You will also have your own person who will take care of you all day. A cooler and towels are provided in the cabana so you do not have to take towels or water.

You will love it. (There were 5 of us)

To add to the response from pamelajs, you rent the cabanas for Nellie's beach on the excursion page on Royal's website. Note that there are 3 different categories, with different price points: Over the water, Hilltop, and Beach cabanas. The over the water ones are $250. I believe the others are $225. Floating beach mats are also provided with the cabanas. No need to apologize for multiple questions:)

I'm not usually one to pose with characters when my kids aren't around. However, my son LOVES the penguins of madagascar...in fact, we had just bought him a stuffed mini of one of the characters, "Rico", when we ran into these guys on the promenade. When I pulled out the mini penguin for the picture, the life-sized version of Rico freaked out, it was really funny.

Let's start off day 5 with a closer look at some parts of the promenade and entertainment areas I hadn't mentioned yet, just to continue the tradition of an early morning walk around the ship...even though these pics are not actually taken in the morning...but whatever:)

You can rent them a lot further out than 90 days. They were available as soon as the RCI excursions were open. We're at ~85 days now and we've had ours booked for a while... in fact, we booked ours before they raised the rates.

Day 5, At sea, continued:

 

We headed back to Johnny Rockets again for breakfast...I got a very similar omelet to the one I ordered in the MDR, in about 1/3 the time.

 

Spent the morning in the solarium...the only notes I have from this morning say that there were plenty of chairs early, but it was pretty full when we left for lunch. Speaking of lunch, check it out:

 

Food porn! Balcony food porn!!

 

 

I finally got around to trying the famous roast beef sandwich...wished I hadn't waited so long to try it, it was a way better lunch than what I had at both Sorrentos and the Wipe Out cafe. The roast beef was not too thick, and not too fatty...just right!

 

After lunch, we headed over to the aquatheater for the:

 

 

Waiting for the show to start...they opened up the curtains behind the stage, so you could see the wake:

 

 

 

King Julien helped to judge the contest:

 

 

If you look closely at this picture, you will see that one of the contestants in the International Men's Bellyflop competition was a woman! I believe Amy, the CD, said this was only the 2nd time in the history of the Oasis that a woman had participated in the contest. It also led to one of the funniest lines I heard from Amy that week. Now, there was an underwater camera filming the aftermath of the bellyflops. Audience members were to give scores of 1-5 by holding up their fingers after each flop. After the lady contestant did her flop, it looked on the underwater camera that she very nearly had a "wardrobe malfunction" on top...some boys in the front row were giving very emphatic "10"s on a the scale of 1-5. Amy turns to them and says, "Aren't you glad you didn't go on a Disney cruise? You wouldn't see THAT on a Disney cruise."

 

Side note: As we were waiting for the bellyflop contest to start, there was a quick show called "Aqua Trends" there in the aquatheater. It was a vintage swimwear fashion show, with both men's and ladies vintage suits. It was actually quite cute and interesting...they played a video along with it that showed the history of the bathing suit.

 

Also in the Aquatheater later that afternoon was:

 

 

This was a comedic dive show. No reservations needed.
