scubagirrl Posted March 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2013 For those arriving in Nassau over the next few days, be aware that Cabbage Beach has been RED FLAGGED. We have had 2 drownings in 3 days. The weather system has affected Atlantis Beach as well. Please choose a harbour beach (Hilton or Junkanoo) or Cable Beach hotel with lifeguards to be safe. Waters should be back to normal by mid-week.. next week. (Mar 20 or so).

2PinaColadas Posted March 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2013 So sorry to hear about the deaths. We are going to RIU on the 19th. I don't normally get in the water -- what is the beach like? Thanks.
EnvisionTravel78 Posted October 22, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2013 Hi there, I have a message out there with no responses called Cabbage Beach and Atlantis. Would you be so kind as to give me any advice that you can on this? By the way, is Cabbage Beach still flagged? We will have teens and small children swimming so I want to make sure that everyone is safe.

Rare CruisinCrow Posted October 22, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 22, 2013 We just got back from Nassau yesterday. We stayed at the RIU on Cabbage Beach and the water was exceptionally calm all weekend - completely different than when we were there in January when the waves were huge. However, it does get deep very quickly. A few steps and we were over our heads. I don't think it is a good beach for small children, even on a calm day.
