First Cruise and questions galore

Hello,

My BF and I will be cruising on the Pearl on the 31st for our first cruise.

*Can we bring a case of bottled water on the boat at Port in Miami?

*Are you allowed to bring other beverages on the ship, such as Wine and/or Soda?

*Is there ever any free alcohol on the ship? We signed up for the M&G already.

*What excursions would you say are a MUST do? We are stopping in Great Stirrup Cay, Ocho Rios, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel.

*Does the ship sell duty free cigarettes?

*What are some things that we should bring that we wouldn't have thought to pack for a cruise?

*How social is the cruise for a couple in their late 20's/early 30's?

Thanks ahead of time for any and all feedback.

Soda and water you can bring no charge...wine you are charged fee.

Dont forget to smuggle alcohol.........kidddding!....any otc meds and snacks to have in the room. They sell otc meds on ship but way over priced.

They sell cigs for cheap i cannot remember the prices but it was a great deal :)

You can bring on all the water and soda you want. NCL is strictly Pepsi products. Check it with your luggage.

Wine has a $15 per bottle corkage fee, paid when you board.

You will be given a freestyle Daily when you board and every night for the following day which lists all activities, shows, drink specials, 2 for 1s, entertainment in the lounges, etc. There will be martini/margarita/wine tastings, about $15 pp. You do get your monies worth. There will probably be a pub crawl.

You can be as social as you want. There will be late night entertainment every night. Don't miss the White Hot Party.

Go climb the Dunn River Falls in Jamica. DH and I did not use the ship shore excursion. We went with Mark Morris. marcogm1@yahoo.com. You can get information on the Ports of Call boards here. You could also do a google search.

Wine was, probably still is, $15.00 corkage fee.

Yes you can bring soda and water.

A highlighter may be good if you are the type who likes to mark possible activities in the Free Style daily.

Enjoy your cruise.:D

Thanks for all the feedback so far. Another silly question...

We got the cruise as a promotion for free from Harrah's Casino. From what I have been reading on these forums, I found out there is something called a drink card and players card to use in the Casino at Sea. Is this something I have to sign up for once we get on the cruise, or will the drinks card and players card be waiting for us in our room? I tried to call NCL this evening but they said CAS had already left for the day.
