ShanteS Posted March 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2013 OK, so it's been awhile since I've been on a cruise leaving out of San Juan (2007) so I don't remember this. Doesn't Carnival provide coach buses to transport cruise passengers to and from the airport and is it free? I can't remember if I paid for this or not. I'll also have my daughter with me who will be 23 months in August, just a week shy of her 2nd birthday. Will I have to pay for her too if there's a fee? Thanks in advance for any help with this! :)
pe4all Posted March 19, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2013 Nothing is free with CCL!! I would hop a taxi both ways - especially with a little one in tow. Very easy, and cheaper than CCL transfers. With transfers you have to wait till they fill a bus. With a taxi you are right on your way.
Colorado Kat Posted March 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2013 For the cruise line transportation, there can be quite a wait to fill the buses. I would just grab a taxi, especially with a baby.
mondello Posted March 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2013 Sure, a taxi is faster; however, child may be safer in the bus since the taxi will not have a child car-seat.

mondello Posted March 19, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 19, 2013 Neither will the bus They're not required on the bus. Would you rather be in an auto accident in a taxi or a big motor-coach?
MrLacox Posted March 19, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 19, 2013 Airport is a 15-20 ins drive from the pier. Just one traffic light stop, The rest is mostly a freeway ride. Cabbies dont drive like maniacs down here. You and your child should be safe.

ShanteS Posted March 19, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted March 19, 2013 Thanks for the replies! And now that some of you mentioned it I do believe my family and I used transportation arranged by Carnival back in 2007 and we did have to wait quite awhile before we left the airport. How much are the taxis to and from the port?
coder01 Posted March 19, 2013 #10 Share Posted March 19, 2013 There are set fees. When you land and get a taxi they will give you a listing of the fees. It is either $17 or $19 plus a dolllar a bag.

jwalk03 Posted March 19, 2013 #12 Share Posted March 19, 2013 The Carnival transfer is $15 per person each way. The cab price is not per person, so the Carnival transfer is only cheaper if you are traveling alone, and even then for only a few dollars more the cab is still a better option as it will be much faster not having to wait on the bus to fill up before departing.
