Smallest soda/water pack you have to check

I know NCL lets you bring unlimited soda and water on board. We're thinking about getting a 24 pack of bottled water and a "cube" of canned sodas. Do you know if the soda has to be in plastic bottles or can we check in the case of cans?

You can bring the cans. However, Tampa does not accept water or soda as checked baggage.

We're leaving out of Miami. I just didn't know the procedure. Do I just tape a luggage tag to it??

I checked a case of water in NYC. I taped a luggage tag to the top and wrote my cabin number also around the sides and taped the sides a little. The water actually made it to my room before most of my luggage.

In Tampa you have to carry it on yourself. I believe all other ports let you check it with a luggage tag taped to it.

Ok then, how do you carry yours on? Do you just carry the flat

or do you put the flats in a duffel and carry that?

You can check it in Miami. I have seen some people check numerous big cases of soda from Costco - 36 packs.
