Is the only reason the twins don't convert to king because of the ladder leading to the second upper?

 

Has anyone had this category stateroom and used both uppers and a king?

They can be converted. The ladder is the only obstacle.

I just booked this same category for 8/31 and was wondering the same thing, glad to hear they can be converted :)
