Formal nights

Do people dress formal for the specialty restaurants? I'm sure some don't, but I'm considering doing only specialty restaurants and no MDR when we sail on Oasis in the fall, but still want to experience formal night.

I'm sure some are more formal than others. What about ones like Giovanni's table which is a more family type specialty or maybe Chops?

Anyone experience this?

When are the formal nights on 7 day fos? Also will it be formal in the specialty resturants as well? Thanks!

RCI no longer has a "dress code" but merely makes a "suggestion" of how to dress. Official RCI policy is that specialty Restaurants are always suggestion of smart casual (regardless of the suggested dress for the main dining room) but one certainly can opt to dress formally if they so desire. On any given night you will see a wide range of how people dress; from extremely formal to so casual it would seem inappropriate for McDonalds - and everywhere in between.
