gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #726 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Back inside the dock complex.. They didn't have this guy last time I was here. That was a funny t-shirt Look at the size of that thing!!! Surprisingly it was not that heavy, it must be hollow inside. Something really funny is that the same nativity scenes she bought were in the first store just outside the gates. There was no need for us to walk that much! ughhhhhh! gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #727 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Back inside we headed to the passport bar for our first drinks of the of the day, I think it must of been around 2:30. we ordered a pomegranate mojito, this one was just ok And a blueberry breeze made with REAL blueberries! Excellent! The passport bar area
gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #728 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Now a funny story falls in place, ill try to explain. The elevators inside are not all even they have a little dip at the end when you step on the glass. Well for some reason I was not thinking and I went to lean on the wall thinking that there was a wall right there, but I had completely forgotten about the dip. So yeah, I was lucky that I was able to catch myself before going down. But it was really funny, there were two people inside the elevator and we all had a quick laugh after the commotion had passed. I am posting the picture so maybe I make myself clear and you can see the dip from the wood panel to the glass. We decide to go to the solarium before sail way and spend sometime there. Someone asked about the clips, here they are. I think she also bought one with an orca whale design to them. At some point the captain came in the speaker and said that once we left Cozumel the ride would become a little bumpy again. The combining factors of full speed ahead and 10 feet seas would make the ride a little uncomfortable for some. Soon enough it was time for sail way so we went back to the room. Heading towards the room.
gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #729 Share Posted April 7, 2013 I was running low on battery so I change the batteries and headed towards the balcony. This system worked great for me, I have two batteries and I usually leave one charging and take the other one. Every so often that I come in the room I swap batteries, I pretty much never have to worry about running out of battery. There was a group of 200 cruisers that was late from an excursion. Apparently they were in a sailing excursion, 200 sailing? maybe the regatta? I am not really sure there, but that just sounded odd. Anyway they were late because the weather impacted the sailing conditions. They arrived soon enough, but they were in no rush to get onboard, they were taking their sweet sweet time walking that pier. here they come
gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #730 Share Posted April 7, 2013 This video is about the shoreline, sorry about how shaky it is. It was extremely windy that day. I should of used the tripod. Here is a video of their vessel leaving and them walking slowly into port. it is actually a cool video. It almost sound like the vessel uses turbines. I seen speed boats with turbines, but to what point is this something economical for a ferry?

gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #733 Share Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) The funny thing is that the weather actually picked up when we were leaving, oooo the irony... Ok so I have two videos, The first one is long and it just of us leaving port, But in this one my friends, you get to meet my fabulous neighbor!!! She was actually being pretty quiet that day, go figure. After leaving port we started talking and the topic of Grand Cayman came up, we really wanted to go there and could only hope that with that horrible weather we would call port. We had booked an excursion the day before leaving and we were really pumped to do it, it would a first for both of us. Full speed ahead mate! (well not full :D, but full cruising speed ;)) Edited April 7, 2013 by gambee
gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #734 Share Posted April 7, 2013 After sail away mom wanted to go to mass, so we headed downstairs to go to mass. Tonights show, (I don't think I made it) They had an art auction I think And the mass I left mom there and headed to get some pictures of the shops. They had all the pictures out for viewing

gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #740 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Then it was time for another drink, so since I was right there by Molecular I decided to stop by and try another drink. I got the violet hummingbird, this drink was not my cup of tea. They add bitters to it and I am not a fan of bitter. I sat there and had a chat with a few folks, I am not really sure who it was as I failed to take notes of that. But I had fun relaxing and talking. gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #741 Share Posted April 7, 2013 After I had finished my drink I asked her if she could make me a South of the Rio (not in the menu). She said she could make it and did for me. This drink is very very good and really spicy, I enjoyed it very much. By the way at some point I asked if she could make me a choco berry, but she said she could not. I don't think she had all the ingredients to make it. After that I headed towards our meeting spot and mom was just getting out of mass, she told me that the priest also a jesuit like the new Pope. Then we made a quick stop and bought another keychain that my mom wanted. This one was a little bit cheaper, I think somewhere around $7, but not sure. The funny thing is that she is not even using it now.
gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #742 Share Posted April 7, 2013 We then headed up to molecular again for a couple of drinks. Hawaiian Lava, it was ok, maybe a bit sour. Mom got coming up roses, it is her favorite. We did not stay long there, instead we decided to grab our drinks and head outside for some fresh air and to see the waves. The cruise had some rocking, it was a fun movement and I was enjoying it very much. My mom was having a bit of a hard time walking. Ashtray In this video I attempt to show the ship rocking. If you focus your sight by that lamp sticking out of the ship and fix the horizon you can see what I am talking about. It was nothing bad, just some light movement. gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #743 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Since we were getting a little hungry we started walking to the MDR for what would turnout to be another fantastic meal. Once we got there we asked for a window table and one was given to us =), mom was very happy about it and so was I. View from our table. The one thing I absolutely hated about the MDR is how close the tables are to each other.
gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #744 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Mom got tomato soup, which she liked. I got seared tuna, also very good. It was served with seaweed. My veal chop, very tasty! And my moms trout was fantastic, the highlight of the dinner. Crepe was good, but had nothing on the other dessert
gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #745 Share Posted April 7, 2013 And warm lava cake is just AMAZING!!!! GET IT!!! The service that night was outstanding, everything came out very promptly and hot (except my tuna :D). We then decided to go to the lawn concert, but due to the weather it was cancelled. While I was there I took some videos trying to show the windy and movement factor of the ship and how windy it was. But once again videos are not my forte… This one is of the pool in the solarium Pools outside And finally in the lawn, you could not imagine how windy it was. My mom could not even make her way up there, it was pretty bad. We really wanted to enjoy the concert, too bad the weather did not cooperated. gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #748 Share Posted April 7, 2013 We never got around to eating in Bistro, everything looked pretty good, but I guess we never found the time. I think I need to start doing B2B to get to experience everything :D.
gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #749 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Then I stopped at all Bacio to get some expresso. Do you guys want to know where the expresso ended? Yup, in my brand new WHITE pants! It all happened because I was trying to take a picture of something (can't recall what) and then the disaster happened. Most of the stain is out and mom is attempting to get the rest of it out thanks to some very helpful CC members. Thank you :) I wanted to see what kind of sushi they offered on board so we headed up to the buffet. Overall the sushi is limited but is all pretty good, I just wished that the rice was not so sweet. gambee Posted April 7, 2013 Author #750 Share Posted April 7, 2013 I had a little plate of sushi. Some eel, crab, shrimp and spicy tuna roll. Then we headed back to molecular to get some refills :D Avocado Mezcal, to put in simple words. It is just a frozen margarita. It was ok I guess. Tanned Russian. It was good, but not a favorite. Lots of creamy lemony taste with coconut.
