I'd give it a 9. I can't give it a 10, because it isn't perfect, but my kids do have fun when they are there. Nothing really can be perfect, hence no 10.

what time does the club close?
Midnight, every night.

what time does it open?
9AM on sea days and either 9AM or 30 minutes prior to the first excursion time when in port.

do i have to pay when we are at port?
No

what kind of activites do they do while in camp?
It really depends on the kids ages, though arts and crafts are big. They also take them to movies, play on the sports deck, have PJ parties, dress up, etc. The activities are varied and fun, at least thats what my kids tell me.

will my child like it?
My kids do, and most kid do. Though you sometimes will see a kid who won't like it, but most kids do.

will there be characters at camp?
They do make appearances in the clubs, but they are not there all the time or for all that long.

will it be broken down into age groups?
There are actually three kids areas on DCL, Oceaner Club, Oceaner Lab and The Stack. Children 3 - 4 and 5 - 7 are in the Club, 8 -9 and 10 - 12 are in the Lab and 13 - 14 and 15 - 17 are in the Stack. Also, note the age groups, each area has two separate age groups, each has their own activities.

Based on my research, DCL wins hands down here. Now, I've only been on DCL so I'm probably biased. The clubs on board are GREAT, always open, and tons for kids to do. I know the other lines are not like this.
