We're sailing on the Golden Princess 4/29/2006 when she repos from San Juan to NYC. My DH and I are in one cabin and our moms are in the cabin next door. We booked it that way so we will have one big balcony. It beats the price of a Suite and we have 2 bathrooms:)............Karen

Will the room steward remove the partition to make one large

balcony for us? We will be on the Sapphire.

There is a small door within the partition that they will open so you can go from balcony to balcony but it doesn't really give you the feeling of one "Big" balcony

We were on the Sapphire Princess this spring and, although we didn't use it this time, it appeared the same as on the Star Princess where we had two cabins side by side. The steward can release the door between the two balconies. It isn't that you're able to remove the additional partitions and make it one large rectangle though.

We did notice though on the Sapphire that there was a hook so you secure the open door. On the Star we could have used a bungee cord because on windy seas the door banged quite a bit since it was unfastened.

Hope this helps.

We had side-by-side balconies on the Coral Princess and half of the partition between the balconies was opened so that we could go back and forth without having to go into the hallway. It wasn't a full removal, i.e., didn't create one unobstructed balcony.

On the Golden, it's the same thing as described above. There's a small door that can be taken away or opened so you can easily go back and forth. You don't however get one completely wide open balcony as alittle more than half of the partition is still there.

We have done this ( side by side balconies) on many Princess ships. The "opening" on Golden was by far the smallest of all prior experiences. We couldn't even transfer a chair through the opening. We had to pass it around the outside. We were on Aloha deck. Our balcony cocktail parties were particularly hilarious as we tried to all get together. There were six of us with three balconies lined up.
