Arc12 Posted April 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2013 We'll be arriving in Vancouver on Amtrak prior to our Alaska cruise, too early to check into our hotel. I read that there are luggage storage lockers at the Amtrak station from a post from 7 years ago. Is this still true? Anyone have any idea how much they cost for 5 hours or so? Also, does anyone have any idea how large of a suitcase the largest would fit?
Putterdude Posted April 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2013 It sounds like you are staying at a hotel once off the train, if so I would just take your luggage to the hotel and have them hold it until your room is ready....they will be happy to do so. Also, with the arrival time of the train you may well find that your hotel room is ready for you. Pacific Central station, where the train comes in, is about 10 mins and a $10 cab fare from most downtown hotels and to leave it there is not a good use of your time and money. Arc12 Posted April 23, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Sorry - neglected to say that luggage storage at the hotel is not an option (long story). So we're definitely interested in the storage at amtrak.
Putterdude Posted April 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2013 I have seen luggage lockers there but have no idea of size and cost.
Budget Queen Posted April 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2013 I have seen luggage lockers there but have no idea of size and cost. I was standing next to some lockers last year, and they certainly would not hold any jumbo bags. I would say, if this is necessary, you go with medium size bags. pizzalady1 Posted April 23, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Last year we were able to store bags at the Pacific Central Station bag check for something like $4 per bag.
