Passport/Birth Certificate Question

I have cruised several times, but just now got my passport. So, when I use passport for I D, I don't need to bring my birth certificate as well, do I?

Leave it home. Passport is the ultimate.

No B.C. needed. Make a photo copy of your passport and take it with you. If for some reason you lose it on the cruise, you have a photo copy so you can get back into the U.S. and you can send it in when you submit for a replacement.

We used our BCs and DLs last year but this year, we (DH, DS and I) got passports.

Leave birth certificate home, but take the DL anyway. You might have occasion to drive a vehicle on an excursion.

Even though I have a passport, I keep a birth certificate in my "vacation notebook," along with all receipts and documents related to the vacation. It takes up no space, and it's a nice backup in case the passport goes missing.
