Sunday in Anchorage

We have one day in Anchorage before our cruise tour begins in June. What do you think the best way to spend the day would be? I would think most things would be open, but not sure.

We will be in Anchorage on a Sunday too , I have just checked online and the Alaskan Native Heritage Centre is open from 9 - 5 on Sundays:)

Trust me...during tourist season, all the tourist stuff will be open Sundays....

Do you have any suggestions for what are the best things to do? We will probably be tired due to time change, and late arrival on Saturday evening.

You didn't indicate your interests, activity level or size of your group so it's pretty hard to offer suggestions. But very town has a web site so start there and look at all the options.

Personally I'd rent a car and do something along the Turnagain Arm about 30 minutes south of town ... gold panning, the Wildlife Center, Alyeska tram, hiking. If it's a nice day, rent bikes and ride along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail for great views of the city, the water, mountains and maybe some wildlife. That will wake you up !
