poptart Posted May 7, 2013 #128 Share Posted May 7, 2013 I am a multi-tasker. Can drink and take pictures! my dh says I can't walk and chew gum at the same time....so "drankin" and taking pictures is just out of the question! :D:D:D I could spend the whole day Punta Moreno....so quiet and relaxing looking. Had some awesome fish tacos at Rastas.
summer_girl Posted May 7, 2013 #129 Share Posted May 7, 2013 I always enjoy your reviews and am a fan of the Elation and Conquest myself...hoping to do the Sunshine this next year!! :) I finally talked my mom into going on a cruise with me and we leave out on the Elation May 18th!!! I just wanted to thank you because after showing your review with the great pics and explanations she was less apprehensive about cruising and is even quite excited! Had some awesome fish tacos at Rastas. Thanks for the review Sarge!!! So nice to see that they've finished with Punta Moreno. One of the storms a few years back really did some damage there. Given the "popularity" of Playa Bonita and Coconuts, I'd say PM is indeed the place to head for a quiet beach on the East side. But the food at Rastas still wins hands down. Best ceviche on the island.

Best ceviche on the island. You're welcome. I know Hurricane Wilma really set the island back a while - not sure if that is the one you are referring to. The Wild Side is certainly the less crowded side.

rcandv Posted May 7, 2013 #136 Share Posted May 7, 2013 Great photo review. We will be on the Elation next week and can't wait to have a great time. I'm curious as to the process of the naughty room. Do they make you sign a confession and slap your hand with a ruler if they find certain items in your luggage?

Don't remember if they make you sign anything, but if it is something they are going to give back to you, they will give you a receipt. No rulers. Sargent_Schultz Posted May 8, 2013 Author #141 Share Posted May 8, 2013 Well imagine if you had gone on a drinking excursion and then had to meet the Captain on the bridge for tea shortly after the sail away from Cozumel? More booze? Well, back in February on Carnival Elation the Captain's invitation was for diner at the Captain's table and there were definitely cocktails before and wine during, but this was for tea. So nah, some food. It had been a while since I had a rueben from the Deli and that sounded appealing about now. and we left Cozumel.

marshhawk Posted May 12, 2013 #150 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Well it took three days, with many interuptions, and work, but I finally got to the end-and you say there is more to come! There is at least your last day at sea, but I see you have been busy writing other reviews, so I am waitiing patiently. I am so sorry that they switched my cruise out of Mobile, as these would have been my shore excursions (well I don't drink but I am hoping they would let me eat my way across cozumel). So thanks for the wonderful pictures, and story line. Have you done Chichen Itza and chose Uxmal for something new? Or do you prefer Uxmal over the other sites in the Yucatan? I know that these pics will get the DH excited about going there, but which to choose it it's your only chance to go? Love the review, and your food porn gets me through the late shift at work, so hugs to you on that.:)
