daydreamer16 Posted May 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2013 Planning to be in London for several days pre-cruise on the Ocean Princess. Princess wants $59 per person one-way to get to the port in Dover---there must be a better option. Help?
Rare LHT28 Posted May 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2013 National Bus then a taxi to the port Or the train to Dover then a taxi to the port http://www.nationalexpress.com/home.aspx
sddsddean Posted May 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2013 As above! , but tell us where your hotel is and we can give the best option. Prices will all be pretty similar (about £10 - £15 on train or coach to Dover, £5 -£7 for a cab to the ship), but there are several rail journeys which start in different places in London, so depending where you are in the capital will decide on the best station to use. Rare John Bull Posted May 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 5, 2013 Yes, cheap & easy by coach or train. Both Nat Express coach & Princess transfers go from Victoria - but as Simon's post Victoria is only one of several departure points by train so it might be a no-brainer, depending on the location of your hotel. http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/planjourney/search For your departure point, select "London - all stations". Your destination is "Dover Priory" JB :)

You might check out info here: http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/dover_london_transfers.htm for transfers from London and http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_dover.htm for LHR. We are arriving at Dover courtesy of our friends but using the cruise shuttle with a tour of Leeds Castle and Canterbury when we return. With the tours, it's still cheaper than Princess' airport shuttle.
