Post cruise San Francisco

Flights are booked for our California Coastal cruise in the fall, but we're trying to figure out what would be best to do after getting off the ship! We'll be in SF for a couple of days before the cruise, and plan to do everything we can that's in walking or trolley distance of the port, since our hotel is in that area. However, the only flight we can make work doesn't leave until 10:30 PM that night. So with luggage and all, we're trying to figure out if there's a tour or something that might accomodate us and our bags and at least occupy us for the better part of the day so we don't have to spend the whole day and evening at the airport! Muir Woods? Sausalito? Help!

A tour of Muir Woods would be great.

 

Have you looked to see if your cruise line offers a post cruise tour?

We have a post-cruise tour booked with Silver Lion Tours.

They are picking us up at the ship and taking us in a tour of Sausalito, Marin County and Muir Woods, and then taking us to a hotel close to the airport, where we are staying before flying out the next morning, as we will have spent 3 days in Fisherman's Wharf before our Alaska cruise touring San Francisco.

 

Is it possible to change your flight to the next morning? Hotels by the SF airport are much less expensive than the city, and with a 10:30 pm flight, it's a long time to keep busy.

 

The ship will most likely offer tours, as well. Another option is to rent a car for the day and drive and tour outside of SF.
