kitty9 Posted May 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2013 We're going to stay in Ottawa after a cruise this fall and would like to stay close to Scotiabank Place and take in a Sens game. What hotels are the closest to the arena? Thank you for any information.
Rare martincath Posted May 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2013 There are certainly hotels near the arena, but unless going to a Sens game is the be-all and end-all of your visit to Ottawa, I'd strongly suggest staying downtown instead (Scotiabank Place is in Kanata, not Ottawa; by transit you're looking at an hour on a bus to get to the popular downtown sights like Parliament or Byward Market - by car you can halve that time but sometimes it's a real trial getting a decent parking spot). RickT Posted May 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2013 I agree with martincath, there are a number of hotels near Scotia Bank Place however if you're coming to Ottawa it would be more enjoyable to stay downtown. From downtown it's not too difficult to get to the arena. Our bus system puts on extra buses on game nights http://www.octranspo1.com/events A lot of people will complain that it's a little far out but it's still easy to get to. Depending on when you are here a number of pubs and bars often buy bulk tickets which includes a meal, ride to the game which are worthwhile. As far as what's near the rink, the closest is the Country Inn and Suites. You can walk to the rink from there. Probably the nicest is the Brookstreet Hotel. Go Sens Go!!!
