Question about cancelling shows on board without notice?

Just a general question?

On our 7 day cruise, on 2 nights, the 2nd main evening show was cancelled for no reason that we know of on 2 nights.

Just to be clear, 2 late evening shows were cancelled on 2 separate nights

We went to play bingo, and as per the schedule, straight after bingo, the show was suppose to start, but, noting, we went to the casino, came back 30 min later, place was empty.

And, yes, we were in the correct lounge/theater...

There was no rough seas or and reason that we could see, as MSC guest service onboard did not explain why.

I just wanted to know, is this a common thing on MSC,

Only thing i can think of, is was it was scheduled to start at 21:00 ( from memory) maybee it started at 23:00, as we know timekeeping is a real strong point on MSC

Reason I am asking, we just inquired about a group rate next year March, 10 - 14 couples couples, and got a great deal... 10 nights to Venice that we cant ignore....

No it's not normal, unless adverse weather makes it too dangerous to perform or there is something else on instead, e.g. a pool party up on deck. If the latter is the case, then it would be stated in the Daily Programme You'd get the evening before.

Hi Caveman

Because that's a repo cruise that you're looking at joining the entertainment programme will probably be even more lackisdasical and haphazard.

There are lots of people on these boards who have had experience of MSC repo cruises who will be able to provide more information. And of course you can always re-read Skipper Tims Santos live cruise report.

MSC Poesia Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale November 2012 not one show cancelled that i can recall despite 3 days and nights of rough seas ... :) even when we reached the calmer seas of the Caribbean there was an extra show near the pool on at least two nights after the main show had finished in the theatre.

Their CEO has mentioned something about reorgainising the entertainment team.

My guess is this could be part of the restructuring, for our April cruise on MSC Splendida, one of the night time theatre show (both seatings) was changed to mini circus (games at various locations?). Which we didn't bother to attend and choose to listen to live music at some of the lounges.

Just to add, the change was "advertised" in the Daily program (delivered the night before).

On my recent cruise we went to the first show- good.

Next night was supposed to be a mime (not interested so didn't go).

Next night went and they had the mime show as apparently he missed his plane. Don't know what WAS on the night before.

Another night decided not to go as it seemed similar to the first night by the advertising in the dailypaper. Friend went and it was something else.

No notification at any time. Calm seas.

That's the Cheerleader Cruise.

"The play, set in Verona, begins with a street brawl between Montague and Capulet supporters who are sworn enemies. The Prince of Verona intervenes and declares that further breach of the peace will be punishable by death."
