What should we choose???

I know this question has been recently asked, but our situation is a bit different. My husband and I have been married for 17 years, we're in our late 30's (yea, we were young :) ), and went on our first cruise this past Feb. WE LOVED IT! We came back home and are trying to get a group of good friends to go with us next Spring, but they would rather do an all-inclusive. My worry is that my husband cannot sit on a beach for more than an hour or two without getting bored.

Should we go by ourselves and cruise, or go with our friends to an all-inclusive?

FYI - We did Carnival's Destiny to the Southern Carribean with my husband's brother and wife.

Did you enjoy the cruise. If so try another ship and one that is newer in the same line. Go to a different set of islands. If you did not like it then go to the all-inclusive (but make sure it is somewhere that you can do a lot of excursions so hubby is not bored).Good luck, the Victory is set to sail so.

I'd venture a guess that your "all-inclusive" friends have never been on a cruise?

I'd pick a cruise over an "all-inclusive" ANY time...

But, that's not really the choice you're facing...or so it seems...

Your choice is do your preferred cruise alone...or join the group and have the company of others at an all-inclusive...

I hate to say it, but there is something nice to vacationing with a group of friends...it's just disappointing that your friends don't buy into the cruise idea...

Maybe there's a compromise...an all-inclusive this year and a cruise the next? Or, maybe a little longer vacation that includes a few days at an all-inclusive and a shorter cruise?

What is their draw to the all-inclusive? Or what is behind their reluctance to do a cruise?

Part of the reason why they don't want to do a cruise is that one of the two other couples only wants to go for 5-6 nights. We're from the midwest, so to do a Southern Carribean cruise, we really need to get to San Juan the day before in case of bad weather. So with a 7-day cruise, that makes 8 days at a minimum which is a total "deal-breaker" for them.

We're not opposed to going on a cruise alone, we just know it would be tons of fun with them.

ahhh. I'm perplexed.

Hola amigos,

Our first cruise was a solo adventure with just the 2 of us. We had a ball! Numero 2 was with my wifes older sister who could not get her dh to go. She spent half of the trip in her cabin, homesick for hubby. The third cruise we played host to my brother-in-law and his seasick wife. She finally found a combo of medication that helped, but we still did most of the trip on our own. I don't think I'll ever ask another couple to go. I'll find someone on the ship to bum around with.

By the way, we leave on the Granduer out of New Orleans on January the 7 th if you want to meet us there.
