cruisesusie Posted May 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2013 What are the options for going from the airport to a downtown hotel in Vancouver. Besides taxis, what are the choices? Also, does anyone know the distance from the airport to downtown and approximate cost for a taxi. There are 4 of us. Thanks for any assistance. Susan The only other choice is light rail/subway known as 'skytrain'. The distance is 14 km. or 8.6 miles and the cost would be 35 +- 5 dollars. Vancouver taxis are small but minivans are freely available for the same price. The dispatcher at the airport curbside will see you right.
Putterdude Posted May 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2013 Your choices are the Canada Line which will cost you $9 pp, they have two downtown stations which may mean you could be walking up to 6 to 8 blocks to your hotel depending where you are staying. Once you have chosen your hotel we can give you an idea how close a station will be to your hotel. A cab will run you $35 and although the cabs are mainly Prius in size, 4 average sized adults and luggage will fit. Failing that about 17% of the cab fleet are mini-vans...same price....you just may have to wait an extra few minutes for one. Aerocar has a flat rate contract with the airport and a limo will cost you $55 + tax an gratuity on a non reserved basis.
