mid-August

You just never know about weather any time of the year in Alaska.

It could be sunny, partly cloudy, windy, rainy and cloudy or a combination of this even within a day. The key is to bring clothing for all types of weather and to layer.

We went on a 15 day cruise tour- left on August 18th- the weather was great- we started in Anchorage, then double Denali, Fairbanks, Coldfoot, Deadhorse, flew back to Anchorage, and then the bus to Whittier, and the cruise (Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, Vancouver). It was cold sometimes and sometimes a bit foggy early in the morning, but no rain. We were lucky.
